Red Coat & Insurgent

Insurgent Trail

Insurge Yourself

Red Coat & Insurgent features trail riding that is about as steep and techy, as it gets in Park City, featuring roots, rocks, and a couple of fun features to boost off before dropping you back out on Holly’s. It’s one of our personal favorite stretches of trail in the area and should be a must-ride for anyone looking for a bit more challenge.

Getting to Insurgent & Red Coat

The old start of Insurgent has now been renamed Red Coat, and the actual start of Insurgent now begins where Holly’s, Ricochet, & Insurgent all diverge from Mid Mountain. If you’re not riding the chairs, the best way to access Insurgent from the top is via Red Coat after climbing Robs, Ambush, & Mid-Mountain.

When to Ride Insurgent & Red Coat

This trail does tend to get blown out by the end of summer, so best to hit it early season if possible. After the snow melts and before the lifts start turning is our favorite time to ride it. It’s also especially nice after a good rain.

Ways to Ride Insurgent & Red Coat

While the actual Insurgent & Red Coat segment is a short bit of trail, you can link up with several nearby trails for a full on all-mountain style ride. Check out our Insurgent Enduro Ride of the Week for our favorite route.
